When you stay with us we look after the breakfast side of things. And some say there's very little room for lunch after one of our gourmet breakfasts.
But, eventually, you'll need to eat. Here are some of our suggestions.
Le Relais Bressan
Located in Flaxton, just 3km from our B&B at Mapleton, is award-winning French restaurant Le Relais Bressan operated by Thierry and Cindy Clerc. Positioned with fantastic views across rolling hills to the coast, this restaurant is known throughout Australia and many parts of the world for its excellent value-for-money fare. Mains average in the mid-$20s, but the best value is the three-course special for $27.50 which is offered for lunch and dinner on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays (closed Tue-Wed). It fully licensed (and BYO). But if you are serious about dining there, we suggest you book well in advance on 5445 7157.
Bella Vista Italian Restaurant
This cute little establishment is in Mapleton, just a 700m walk from our B&B and offers dining both inside and out on the terrace overlooking the rolling hills of the hinterland. It offers superb pizza and pasta dishes at reasonable prices (also take-away). It's licensed for BYO (There's a bottle shop across the road). It's advisable to book if intending to dine at weekends (Phone 5445 7722). NOTE: This is a cash only operator.
Fish Tails Seafood Cafe
This seafood cafe is operated by Chris and Evelyn Garvie and offers a casual setting overlooking Mapleton's famous lily ponds and is just a short walk from our B&B. The menu carries a great range of fish (in season) and is available with sit-down (inside or outside) plus a takeaway service, all at reasonable prices. Don't like fish? Then why not try their famous Mapleton Mountain hamburger. Guests at our B&B get a 5% discount on takeaway orders or 10% off when dining in. Phone 5478 6248.
The Mapleton Tavern (and bottle shop)
This famous establishment is a favourite with Sunshine Coast locals and Queensland visitors alike. Sit on the verandah and sip a drink while you take in the vista laid out before you all the way to the Coast. The Tavern serves lunch and dinner seven days a week and has a well-stocked bottle shop.
