THE ATTRACTIONS

steve_irwin2During your stay at The Ponds on Mapleton B&B, you might just want to relax and unwind in and around the heated pool or read a book under one of the beautiful big shade trees.

But then again ... there are so many things to do, so many things to see . .

Here are just some of them!

  • On your doorstep, just a few minutes walk away, is Mapleton Village, with its many delights including the famous Mapleton Tavern (including a bottle shop) and several cafes and the quaintest bookshop your ever likely to see.

  • And bowlers, bring your bowls. There's a friendly little licensed bowls club where you can play a few ends with one of the best views around,  just beyond the ditch board.

  • We're just a few minutes drive from the spectacular Mapleton Falls, and Kondalilla Falls with its refreshing rock pool and picnic areas; Montville with its many craft shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants, plus the picturesque Baroon Pocket Dam; Flaxton with its wonderful French restaurant 'Le Relais Bressan'; and a little further on, is the quaintness of Maleny township where, nearby, you can view the spectacular Glasshouse Mountains (above).

  • bigPINEAPPLENot far away are the tourist icons of The Big Pineapple and the Yandina Ginger Factory plus several local gingerwineries.

  • For fans of the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, his fabulous Australia Zoo is also within easy driving distance.

  • For bushwalkers, we are located near some of the recently opened and very appealing 'Great Walks of Queensland'.

  • If shopping is more your style, the famous Eumundi Markets (Sat and Wed) are 'just up the road'. Plus there's a host of other markets throughout the Sunshine Coast.mooloolaba_beach

  • Of course, there are the famous Sunshine Coast beaches including Mooloolaba (right), Noosa and Caloundra with their beachside cafes, all within easy driving distance.

But wherever you go, around almost every corner, there are VIEWS, VIEWS, VIEWS.

We have a range of brochures for most of the attractions, and plenty of local knowledge as well.
